What a year! Hope everyone is doing well and practicing their craft.
So after a bit of hiatus, I'm back on DA and ready to get back into my groove. Had a great portfolio class this semester, feel like I learned a lot - especially how to fail. I worked very hard on a body of work but actually wasn't satisfied with the physical result, which works out in the end because I feel hungry for improvement and growth in my creative practice. I finally discovered what I want my work to say, but I'm still wrestling with how to say it. So I think the next step is to leave behind all notions of being a student and start acting like a professional. Time to hit the ground running and lose myself in artmaking.
I realize that my work and process have such a long way to go, but I feel like that horizon is a bright one. I want to be receptive to all forms of inspiration, all manner of criticism and lesson-learning. I feel it in my core that I've found the right direction for my art to go - time to make it happen. So thank you to all that have viewed my work and given feedback - you help me evolve and move forward. I hope to keep engaging you all in the future. Thank you to the artists that are so much better than myself, you've provided priceless inspiration and guidance in your own art practice. Knowing that others can make something of their passions makes me feel deep down that I can do this too.
Never stop creating.
